World Press Photo show opens in Budapest

A World Press Photo exhibition featuring the best print media photos of last year opened at the Museum of Ethnography on Friday, and will run until October 21.

 

Spencer Platt of the US, a staff member of Getty Images, won the press photo prize of the year with his photo taken in war torn Beirut. Zsolt Szigetváry of the Hungarian news agency MTI won the first prize in the news series category with photographs entitled Almost Revolution, taken at the siege of MTV in Budapest last September 18 and the riots on October 23.
