Workers threaten strike at Ferihegy Airport
The airport workers trade union at Budapest's Ferihegy International Airport on Monday threatened to go on a strike after the company in charge of ground services fired a trade union representative following wage talks.
Trade union chairman Attila Csorba said the strike may be held as early as this week. The trade union had initiated wage talks with the management of Celebi Ground Services because the company is planning to lay off as many as 80-100 workers, Csorba said.
The trade union representative was fired on false allegations after the fourth round of talks, Csorba said.
At Monday's talks, the trade union will demand that the company withdraws the sacking decision, he added.
