A 64-year-old woman died in Miskolc two days after she was administered an inoculation against the H1N1 flu virus.

The State Medical Office has ordered an autopsy to find out whether there is a close link between the vaccine and her death. The woman was suffering from a chronic but not severe heart disease.

Meanwhile, the State Medical Office warned that the number of H1N1 flu cases could reach epidemic levels by early next year due to the poor weather.

National chief medical officer Ferenc Falus asked Hungarians to have themselves inoculated as quickly as possible, as he addressed Parliament's health committee. One to three million flu cases are expected in Hungary over the next year, he said.

Falus was administered an injection against the flu virus as reporters and photographers looked on.

A total of 283 verified infection cases have been registered since the H1N1 virus appeared. Some 16,000 flu cases were registered last week, a 12% rise over the previous week.
