Budget airline Wizz Air will relaunch its flights between Budapest and Târgu Mureş (Hungarian: Marosvásárhely) starting May 15, writes Népszabadság, based on a statement by the company. The date corresponds with the opening of the airline's eighth base in Cluj-Napoca (Hungarian: Kolozsvár).

Wizz Air launched its first flights from Târgu Mureş in July 2006, then relocated its Transylvanian operations to Cluj-Napoca in November. The company's experience is that the Cluj-Napoca operation is successful, but most traffic between Budapest and Transylvania is directed toward Târgu Mureş.

Passengers who have valid bookings for the Budapest-Cluj-Napoca route during the affected period of time will be informed about the change.

Wizz Air will operate three Budapest-Târgu Mureş flights weekly, at the same time as Budapest-Cluj-Napoca flights. The change will not affect the company's Cluj-Napoca operation and plans for expansion, the statement said.
