Travel agencies "bin" paper airline tickets
As of this week, travel agencies in Hungary have ceased issuing traditional "paper" airline tickets in favor of electronic ticketing, reports inforadio.hu.
Malév Air Tours CEO Zsolt Krucsai told the radio that a minimal number of paper-based tickets had been used since January, but after June 1st, the switch has become complete.
Krucsai thinks the change will not cause problems for travelers, as they only have to note their booking number and use it to check in. If any problem arises, they can contact their travel agent.
Krucsai said the issuing and using of electronic tickets is simpler than paper-based tickets, while they are more easily replaceable if they are lost or stolen.
