Three major Budapest transport projects underway
Budapest residents will pay a heavy price for metro line number four, which is now under construction, as experts claim that traffic jams will become the norm in central Budapest over the next two years, Magyar Hírlap reports.
The closure of Kálvin tér for the next two years, the six-month closure of Szabadság híd, and the reconstruction of the Kiskörút all point towards a traffic crisis, the daily adds.
Commuters using tram number two will be badly affected, as shuttle buses will run from Boráros tér to Március 15 tér for the next two years. Meanwhile Kálvin tér store owners will have to tolerate high levels of noise and dust from the construction project.
