Ágnes Pécsi, a teacher of Hungarian literature and history at Lengyel Gyula Vocational High School, chained herself to her desk while giving a special class on Wednesday in protest against City Hall's plans to close the 150-year old school. Pécsi led a 150-hour hunger strike in late January in protest against the planned closing.
The Bi-lingual Primary and High School in the Sixth District staged a torchlight demonstration on Wednesday against its planned closure by the local authority. More than 500 teachers, students and parents took part in the protest march, Magyar Nemzet reports.
