Talmácsi severs contract with team
World speed motorcyclist Gábor Talmácsi has severed his contract with his Balatonring Team and will not enter the weekend race at Le Mans. Talmácsi won the world speed championship in 2007.
His manager, Stefano Favaro, told Népszava that they will look to join another team, as Talmácsi has proved with his results that he has earned his place in the 250cc category.
Favaro told Magyar Nemzet that the Spanish group of investors who have sponsored Talmácsi since April 1 have taken possession of his media representation rights, which is unacceptable.
Team chief Jorge Martinez said the unilateral severing of the contract is surprising, as Talmácsi had achieved great results with his motorcycle, showing great talent.
