T-Mobile launches high-speed mobile internet
T-Mobile has launched the high-speed internet service for mobile phones based on HSDPA technology, the first mobile phone operator in Hungary to provide this service. HSDPA allows subscribers to download data at 1.5Mb/s, fast enough to watch videos on a mobile device.
The service is so far only available in Budapest, but T-Mobile expects to expand its network to other cities by the end of the year.
Rivals Pannon and Vodafone are also testing the technology, which many think will become widespread in Western Europe in two or three years.
