The Forrás Szálló hotel in Szeged closed last week on September 15, preparing for its transformation into a four-star hotel by June 2009, reports delmagyar.hu.
The hotel, opened 20 years ago, will undergo a complete renovation. The final events held at the hotel were a conference, a wedding and a school meeting during it's final weekend before temporarily closing. The renovations, costing nearly Ft 1.5 billion (€6,238,488), will begin in October, leaving only the walls intact.

There will be 160 two-bed rooms of which 50 can be opened together for families. Conference rooms for 450, 150 and 50 people will be found at the hotel after renovations, as well as a spa. All of he 82 employees will stay, and they will be working in other establishments until the reopening next year.
