Suspect in Roma murders denies responsiblity

Árpád K., primary suspect in a string of Roma murders which took place in the Hungarian countryside in 2009, has told daily Magyar Nemzet that he did not hold racist beliefs; did not take part in planning and executing the murders; and never was member of any extremist group.

 

Meanwhile, K. admitted to have been at the Galgagyörk, Piricse and Tarnabod scenes of the murder series.

 

K. earlier served as a border guard but was released following an accident. He now works as a music technician.

 

In related news, police suspect that perpetrators of the murders acquired glass bottles for fire bombs used in the attacks at a Debrecen club called Perényi 1.
