Some 70 percent of the Hungarian population believes it is not worth trusting anyone or planning for the future, a survey by the Behavioral Sciences Institute of Semmelweis University has found. In 2005, this rate was only 50 percent.

Research group head Mária Kopp told Inforádió that the findings suggest there are no common values and that there is a moral crisis in Hungary. She adds that the degeneration of social capital plays a large role in the early deterioration of health, especially in men.

This data gathered from 4,500 people, shows a situation much worse than in neighboring countries.
