Abbot Asztrik Várszegi and Jácint Horváth, executive director of the West Transdanubian Regional Development Agency, yesterday signed a Ft 1.25 billion contract on state subsidies for a tourist attraction and development project at the historic Pannonhalma Benedictine abbey.

The contract, signed in Győr in the presence of Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány, stipulates that a conference center, a youth tourist hostel and a house for pilgrims will be built.
