"An internal investigation has been launched at state railway MÁV concerning the sale of discount train tickets in August," deputy-CO István Heinczinger told Népszabadság. In an effort to boost passenger traffic, MÁV agreed to the distribution of one-way tickets through the retail chain Rossmann for a flat rate of Ft 799 to any destination.

Rossmann made Ft 11 million profit from the Ft 89 commissions given. There was no case analysis prior to launching the campaign, Népszabadság writes, citing senior MÁV officials, who are unsure whether the company benefited from the deal.
