Smaller Budapest Spring Festival in '12

A total of 48 performances will be held at 15 locations at the Budapest Spring Festival during March 16-26, executive director of organiser Budapest Festival Centre Zsófia Vitézy told reporters on Tuesday.

John Malkovich starring in a play as a serial killer will be the highlight of the festival, Magyar Nemzet observes.

The festival will have no corporate sponsorship, but will be subsidised by the city of Budapest, the National Resources Ministry, the National Development Ministry and savings from last year.

The event will be smaller than in recent years, having been up to three weeks long at its peak.
