Six injured in lumber yard fire in Visegrád
A storage unit at a lumber yard exploded and caught fire Tuesday morning in Visegrád (Pest County), injuring six. The blaze was successfully extinguished, and the injured taken to a nearby hospital, reports inforadio.hu.
In the storage room, where the fire started, wood, paints and solvents were stored. One of the employees noticed that a can of solvent was punctured, and wanted to take the can outside, said György Szentes, the deputy spokesman of the Hungarian Disaster Management (Országos Katasztrófavédelmi Főigazgatóság; OKF). While walking towards the exit, the highly flammable liquid dripped across the floor, eventually catching fire near the boiler.
The fire burned on an area of 50 to 100 square meters.
