Shot fired into environmentalist's home
A shot was fired through the window of a house in Szikszó, Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County, late on December 11, reports index.hu. The owner of the house, a 61-year-old man, is the leader of a local environmentalist group. Several companies have been issued with large fines after he reported them to authorities.
The man was watching TV when the shot was fired. The bullet went through the window and became lodged in the opposite wall of the room. Police do not think the shooter was trying to directly target the owner of the house.
Mayor József Füzesséri said this had not been the first attack against the environmentalist. Earlier, his car was doused with a solvent that damaged the paintwork.
