A security guard needed to be rushed to the hospital in critical condition after a fire broke out in the popular outdoor bar next to the Rudas Baths at around 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, reports index.hu. A gasoline can found at the scene indicates arson.

Firefighters found an empty gasoline can and an unlit torch at the nearby stop of of the number 7 bus. Eyewitnesses reported that two men escaped the scene when the flames erupted. A security guard was rescued by a German tourist before firefighters arrived. The guard suffered burns on 90% of his body.

Flames were contained to the 200 square-meter wooden structure of the café adjacent to the Rudas Baths and did not damage historic bath building, although firefighters needed to cool it with water.
