The Budapest Police are still looking for a two-and-half-year-old boy named Dominik who went missing on Margitsziget (Margaret Island) under unclear circumstances on Friday, reports hirado.hu.

This morning police said they were searching for witnesses in District XIII, and a medical expert is examining the boy's mother to determine whether she is telling the truth about how her son disappeared.

The woman said that they were walking at the end of the island near Árpád Bridge close to the river when the boy ran off. According to her story, she ran after him, slipped, hit her head on a stone, and when she came to, the boy had disappeared.

Police also said that the section of the river where the boy allegedly went missing is being searched.

The family is from Monorerdő, and a neighbor told portal stop.hu that the father had also went missing, leading to beliefs that he had kidnapped his own son.
