Woman shot with arrow in countryside dispute
A 44-year-old Roma woman was struck by an arrow fired into the courtyard of a house in Becsehely, Zala county, Sunday evening. A second arrow flew into the house but did not hit anyone.
Zoltán Bogdán, head of the local Roma Authority, said the attack was not racially motivated, but was due to a dispute over a debt.
The sister of the injured woman had borrowed money from the amateur archer some weeks ago, but did not repay the debt, prompting the lender to demand the money from her relatives. The woman's son said the man had attacked them for a debt of only Ft 3,000.
