Road accident near Szeged kills 100 pigs

More than 100 pigs died when a truck transporting 200 pigs overturned near Szeged on Sunday, reports origo.hu. Disaster protection and firefighter units were trying to catch and save the others, spraying the frightened animals with cold water in order to cool them down.

 

Despite the large animal casualties, the truck driver survived the accident without any injuries.

 

A transporting truck was sent for the pigs and the road remained closed until the evening, the traffic being rerouted to Route 5.
