Riot organisers' phones tapped by National Security Office
The National Security Office bugged over 100 telephones belonging to demonstration and riot organisers after the assault on MTV on September 18, and monitored telephone conversations between riot organisers and various political groupings, Magyar Hírlap reports. The phones of many taking part in the riots were also tapped.
The phone numbers were obtained by National Security Office personnel who infiltrated the organisers after the September 18 riots.
The Office is equipped to tap 1,000 phone lines continuously, but does not have enough staff to transcribe and analyse all conversations.
