Ride the Hungarian rails for free today with a valid traffic permit
Trains operated by MÁV Start and GYSEV are free today with a valid traffic permit, for the occasion of the European Car-Free Day, reports hirszerzo.hu.
Traffic permits for privately-owned cars entitle to free travel on second class, while on first class, only the difference between the two types of train tickets have to be paid. On InterCity trains, only a seat ticket (helyjegy) and an extra ticket (pótjegy) have to be purchased.
