The renovated bridge over the Danube at Komárom was fully re-opened to traffic on Monday. The renovation of the bridge to Slovakia cost €5.5 million, shared equally by the Hungarian and Slovak governments.

No such large-scale work has been performed on the more than 100-year-old bridge since World War II.

An official ceremony will be held in the presence of Hungarian and Slovak government officials on December 20.
