A display of Renaissance art from Botticelli to Titian attracted 230,000 visitors to Budapest's Museum of Fine Art, making it the third most successful exhibition in the museum's history, the museum said on Tuesday.

The exhibition featuring 130 paintings by 80 Renaissance artists opened on October 28, 2009 last year and closed on February 14, 2010. On the last two days, more than 10,000 people saw the exhibition.

More than 50 museums from around the world have lent works by the likes of Giorgione, Raffaello, Veronese and Tintoretto. One of Leonardo's most famous and precious works, Lady with an Ermine, was also on display.

Visitors for the exhibition arrived from more than 30 countries and it received favourable reviews in the international press, including the Financial Times, Apollo and The Art Newspaper.
