Protestors burn image of Slovak nationalist politician
Police will not launch an investigation into what happened at a protest held by far-right group Hatvannégy Vármegye Ifjúsági Mozgalom (Sixty-Four Counties Youth Movement; HVIM) in Budapest on the weekend, hirado.hu writes. "Spitting at, stamping on and burning the photo of a Slovak politician does not constitute breaking the law," Budapest Police Spokesperson Péter Schön said.
HVIM held a protest action in front of the Slovak embassy on Saturday to demand finding the perpetrators who assaulted a Hungarian girl in the Slovak town of Nyitra (Nitra) two weeks ago. Around 250 people attended the event. They burned the photos of Slovak National Party leader Ján Slota and those youth who are suspected of beating the girl in Nyitra (Nitra).
