Protest leader accused of embezzling donations
One of the leaders of the anti-government protests is accused of embezzling hundreds of thousands of forints, and will be forced to resign, reports hirszerzo.hu.
András Takács, one of the deputies of the Hungarian National Committee 2006 (Magyar Nemzeti Bizottság 2006) has reportedly embezzled hundreds of thousands of forints collected from donations to the organization, said László Gonda, the leader of the committee Wednesday night at an ad-hoc press conference.
He also failed to let protesters know that they were supposed to leave Kossuth tér the night before October 23 and allow police to search the vicinity.
Gonda said they will examine the vault Thursday morning to see how much money is missing. The vault has been commandeered by the police on October 23.
