An 18-year-old Roma man died in hospital after being stabbed in Kazincbarcika, northeast Hungary early Saturday. County prosecutor general Csaba Vereczkei has offered a Ft 300,000 (€1,000) reward to anyone providing vital clues on the murderer's whereabouts.

The murder does not appear to be connected to the string of fatal attacks on Roma people in small villages over the last few months, Népszabadság writes. Police are no closer to finding the murderers after questioning 200 witnesses, carrying out more than 100 investigations and processing more than four million phone calls, the National Bureau of Investigations said in a statement on Friday.

The murders took the lives of five people in Nagycsécse, Tatárszentgyörgy and Tiszalök.
