Police investigate possible Fejér county kidnapping
Police have been investigating the movements of four people in connection with the case of a married couple who went missing on December 29 in Mezőszilas, Fejér county, and may have been kidnapped in a loan dispute.
Police would not divulge any more details in the interest of the investigation, but local residents believe the couple have been kidnapped.
The missing man, well-to-do haulier Tamás Prikkel, was linked to the oil adulteration cases of the 1990s. He spent months in custody, but was never convicted. Prikkel, who often loaned out large sums of money, left with his wife on Friday to see one of his debtors, who had reportedly indicated by phone that he wanted to repay some of his debt. Prikkel and his wife have not been seen since. Their two sons reported their disappearance to the police at the weekend.
