Some 13 tons of Italian pears sprayed with a concentration of fungicides twice the legal limit have already been sold and cannot be located, writes hirtv.hu.

A company based in Tiszakécske (Bács-Kiskun County) imported the 16 tons of pear to Hungary. Less than one tenth of the shipment was seized by authorities at the location of the company.

The pears were found in a store in Tolna County on Friday. Experts say they are dangerous only in large quantities.
