Parking ticket machine art contest announced in Budapest

Parking company EME Zrt. announced a tender for designing colorful parking ticket machines, writes Népszabadság. The artists and applied artists who enter the competition, besides designing the colored ticket machines, can create a ticket machine which would also function as a public work of art.

The designs can either preserve the forms of the parking ticket machines and decorate them, or be radically different as long as the functionality of the machines is preserved. The designs are to be exhibited on the streets in September and October, and the 21 works chosen by the judges will also be displayed in the Gödör Klub in September.

The aim of the contest is to make the cityscape more exciting by making the parking ticket machines colorful, friendly and attractive, and, of course, to advertise paying the parking fees by mobile phone.
