A painting entitled "Angelic Greeting" kept in Szeged's Ferenc Móra Museum has been proven to be a work of Italian master Giorgio Vasari, writes senior's portal otvenentul.hu, based on an MTI report.

Vasari was a student of Michelangelo and a painter, architect and art historian writer, and is known to have designed the Uffizi Palace in Florence. Art historians believe he was the first to write down the world "Renaissance."

László Zombori, director of the museum said: "According to the opinion of American art historian professor Louis A. Waldman, the painting previously decorated the Papal wing built in the Vatican in 1570. Based on research of the world-renowned researcher of Leonardo's life, the painting is by Vasari."

The painting willl be exhibited at Budapest's Fine Arts Museum from October 28 until February 2010 as one of the main highlights of the exhibition "From Botticelli to Titian."
