Overdose to miss Ascot
Hungary's wonder horse Overdose, still undefeated in 12 races, will be unable to take part in either of the two June races at Ascot in the UK because its front legs are not raceworthy. Owner Zoltán Mikóczy had already pulled the sprinter out of the May 23 meet at Haydock Park, also in the UK.
A French veterinarian removed an abscess from Overdose's front left leg recently, but now his right front leg has become inflamed.
Mikóczy explained that Overdose's legs may have recovered by the middle or end of this week, but as the horse will be restricted to a diet of hay and carrots, he will lose a sizeable amount of weight.
