Previously undefeated Hungarian racehorse Overdose finished a dismal seventh in the 1,200-metre Golden Peitsche race in Baden-Baden Germany on Sunday.

The horse threw off its Belgian jockey Christophe Soumillion before the start of the race, and was forced into the stalls at the starting line with great difficulty.

Overdose began well but could not keep pace with its rivals in the final lap and lost its undefeated record after 14 races. The horse won the same race two years ago.

Soumillion was injured and had to cancel his remaining rides.
