Opposition caucus leader faints in Hungarian Parliament
Fidesz caucus leader Tibor Navracsics fainted in Parliament Monday afternoon, prompting Speaker Katalin Szili to halt the session. Christian Democrat MP Kálmán Nagy, a doctor by profession, immediately rushed to Navracsics's aid, as did Socialists Mihály Kökény and Mária Vojnik.
Navracsics got up a few minutes later and left the auditorium with support from fellow MPs. Socialist MPs applauded him, and Gergely Bárándy wished him a speedy recovery on their behalf.
Ambulance doctors examined Navracsics in a sealed-off corridor of Parliament after which they took him to Kútvölgyi hospital. Fidesz later issued a statement saying that Navracsics was diagnosed with a virus infection. Navracsics later left the hospital.
Parliamentary leaders are considering action against news website Index for publishing a photograph of Navracsics fainting in Parliament.
