Far-right organization For a Better Hungary (Jobbik Magyarországért Mozgalom) called for making the criminal code stricter, and reinstating the death penalty in a demonstration in Olaszliszka on Saturday, reports nol.hu.

The demonstrators drove through the village with a convoy of 60 to 70 cars and about 50 motorcycles, and placed flowers at the scene of the killing of the teacher, who hit a local girl with his car on October 15. Although the girl was unharmed, her relatives killed the man on the scene in front of his two daughters who were traveling with him.

"We know that the European Union does not support such initiatives [as the death penalty], but we think the incidents currently taking place even in Western Europe will make them reconsider," said Csanád Szegedi, a leader of the organization, at an ad-hoc press conference at the demonstration. "The events at Olaszliszka were the last straw, there have been several crimes in the recent past that have caused widespread outrage."

The demonstrators then proceeded to Tiszavasvári, the victim's hometown, and drove through the town in silence.
