Officials refute unofficial results of police rape case DNA test
Officials have denied the validity of widespread media reports that DNA tests on Zsanett E. do not corroborate her claims that she was raped by five police officers. Attila Morvai, spokesman for Budapest Public Prosecutor's Office (Fővárosi Főügyészség), said the reports had no meaning until official results of the tests are published today.
According to a number of tabloid sources, results of the DNA test show that materials found on Zsanett E.'s clothes do not match the DNA of any of the police officers. They also claim that no foreign DNA was found in samples taken from her during a gynaecologist exam.
Morvai argued that the debate on Monday was counter-productive as there had been no further developments in the case. However, he did confirm that Zsanett changed her testimony when confronted with the suspects. She didn't recognize several of the men, although she didn't recognize more than two in May either. All five officers were released from custody Monday afternoon.
