Nyíregyháza thermal baths accused of misappropriation

Police have launched an investigation on suspicion of misappropriation at Nyíregyháza medical baths operator Sóstó Gyógyfürdők Zrt, Magyar Nemzet writes. Fidesz-KDNP members of the local government-owned company's supervisory board reported the case to police at the end of last month.

Fidesz said at the end of July that Sóstó Gyógyfürdők Zrt had signed a contract with another local government-owned company in 2005 to create a Ft 52 million (€195,000) controlling system. Ft 39 million was transferred to Nyírinfo Kft as advance payment, and another Ft 15 million was paid for software development and training employees.

Fidesz said the contract was never fulfilled out, the software was not installed, and no employees were trained.
