Nudist beaches spring up on banks of Tisza

Two unofficial nudist beaches have been established on the Tisza river at Foka and at the foot of Algyő Railway Bridge. Both have visitors and their own sets of rules, reports Délmagyarország.

The 50-meter-long stretch of shoreline is frequented predominantly by men. None of the beaches are marked swim areas, but many of the bathers ignore this rule to cool off while others warn them to stay clear of the pillars.

A man, Károly, explained that he had been a guest of the Algyő beach in the past five years. "It is a lovely sandy beach. I don’t really swim, only to cool myself. I’ve made friends here, we often talk to our neighbors. As soon as the Sun is up, we’re here, couples, kids, and old ones."

It is a nomad nudist beach without bufés or toilets and everyone brings their own lunch. "We never litter and gather everything into bags. It’s one of the rules", added Károly. Swimming is not officially permitted in the river and bathers are warned by others to stay near the shore.
