New Hungarian weekly to hit newsstands in California
A new Hungarian illustrated magazine entitled Amerikai Magyar Naplo will be launched in California in March, editor Gyorgy Matsik told a news conference in Los Angeles on Thursday, local time.
The weekly will focus on the everyday life of Hungarian Americans and carry commentaries and wrap-ups, he said.
To address the younger generations, it will operate an interactive website.
Hungarian Consul-General Balazs Bokor called it a complicated task to launch a new publication but warned against pessimism, arguing "that the printed press will survive despite all difficulties".
Amerikai Magyar Naplo will become the second Hungarian weekly published on the West Coast, the other one being the Amerikai Magyar Hirlap.
Its specimen issue will come out in 5000 copies.
