At Budapest's Western Railway Station the glass of the new passenger elevator was kicked in and shattered on Tuesday, 9 October.
The damage exceeds Ft 30,000 (€1,200). The elevator cannot be used by passengers until the damage is fixed. It was put into service last Thursday to help ensure all passengers have equal access to the station.
Vandalism causes damage of Ft 200 million (€802,000) to Hungarian State Railways (MÁV) a year.
