Nearly 100 foreign students attend Hungarian Summer University
A group of 90 students from around the world have enrolled in the Hungarian Studies Summer University hosted by Budapest and Szekesfehervar this year, the programme organisers told reporters on Friday.
The students have arrived from 30 countries including 15 EU member states, South Korea, Taiwan, Mongolia, Egypt, Indonesia, Vietnam, Japan, Yemen and the United States, said Melinda Garay, a programme director of the co-hosting Balassi Institute.
The programme includes presentations in English about Hungary's history, literature, music, arts, cinema, gastronomy and the Hungarian language, Garay said.
Those who speak a certain degree of Hungarian have the possibility to hear lectures in that language, she added.
Programmes running until August 13 also include a city tour to Veszprem and the picturesque town of Szentendre near Budapest, as well as to the popular holiday resort Lake Balaton in the country's west, said Garay.
