Motorcyclists to protest against weight tax in Budapest
Motorcyclist will state a procession in Budapest on Saturday, September 22, to protest for the lowering of the weight tax, reports hirszerzo.hu. It will be held at the same time as the now traditional "Critical Mass" bicycle procession.
The "RR-ace Mono" group held their first procession in Budapest one year ago, with around 16,000 motorcyclists protesting against the "power tax," a new type of weight tax that replaced the old levy on January 1st. They also demanded lower motorway sticker fees, which they were granted this summer.
Motorcyclists expect 20,000 to join the protest on Saturday. They will start their procession at 4 p.m. on the Pest lower embankment at the Parliament building, will cross Petőfi Bridge to Buda and proceed on Budaörsi út until the starting point of the M1-M7 motorways.
