Motorcycle roadshow revs up to promote road safety
A country-wide motorcycle roadshow aimed at 10-14 year olds was launched in the first week of June aims to educate the public on traffic laws and popularize the idea of obeying the law as a means of avoiding accidents. The drive is part of a wider initiative that has already seen a 10% decrease in the number of pedestrian deaths on the roads.
In addition to enforcing a zero tolerance policy on drink driving, police want to further decrease the number of accidents by educating and informing the public and promoting better traffic etiquette.
Police - with the participation of civilian guard organizations - are also planning to secure areas around schools until the end of the school year.
