Minors among Hungarian athletes found doping
A total of 900 doping tests have been carried out in Hungary this year, the result was positive in eight cases, the head of the Hungarian Anti-doping Group (MACS) told reporters on Wednesday, evaluating the year.
One athlete tested positive in each of karate, volleyball, cycling, motorboat, weightlifting, sumo, pentathlon and moto GP, said Agnes Tiszeker.
Among those using banned drugs there were also minors, she said, noting that one of them was a young weightlifter who had taken anabolic steroids to enhance performance.
Out of all the tests, 350 have been blood tests, revealing the presence of growth hormones in 155 cases.
Most of the doping tests, 876, have been unannounced, said Tiszeker.
