The southern tunnel of metro line number four was completed on Friday. The less than half a kilometre distance between Népszínház utca and Baross tér was covered in five weeks.

The northern drill is expected to reach Baross tér early next month.

Test runs could begin along the first section of the metro line between Kelenföld and Keleti railway stations in late 2012. It is not yet known when the second stage, a further four stations going as far as Bosnyák tér, will be built because the required funds are missing.
