Man arrested for mailing bullets to national police chief
Police in NW Hungary have arrested a man for posting bullets to the national police headquarters in an envelope, a national police spokesman told MTI on Saturday.
The letter addressed to the national police chief arrived on Friday morning and the sender was identified as a resident of Gyor-Moson-Sopron County later in the day. The man, aged 61, was arrested by a commando unit and he has since admitted that he had posted the bullets, said Gyorgy Makula.
The Budapest fifth district police have started legal proceedings against the man and will initiate his pre-trial detention, he said.
"Every threat is taken seriously, even those that seem less serious, like this one," national police's press department head, Zoltan Timar said. He added that the bullets were accompanied by a letter but declined to reveal details.
