Man aged 38 first swine flu victim in Hungary this year
A 38-year-old man died of swine flu in the first week of January, being the first victim of the H1N1 virus in Hungary this year, a senior medical officer at the National Public Health and Medical Officer Service (ANTSZ) said on Wednesday.
The man belonged to a high-risk group because he suffered from obesity, said Agnes Csohan. He was not vaccinated and went to the doctor relatively late, she added. He died within a few days after being taken to hospital.
Chief Medical Officer Judit Paller said contractions of the virus had recently increased in Hungary.
