An 11-month-old infant was rushed to hospital in critical condition and five adults were hospitalised with light injuries when a minibus with Romanian number plates and a car crashed on M7 motorway early on Thursday, the local disaster management authority told MTI.

The accident happened between Siofok and Zamardi (W Hungary).

Both the child and the adults - three Romanian and two Italian nationals - were travelling in the minibus. The child was sitting on his mother's lap, and was ejected from the vehicle when the car crashed into it from behind.

The motorway was closed down temporarily.
