Life expectancy up as doctors' visits increase in Hungary
Life expectancy in Hungary has increased to 77 years for women and 69 for men thanks to people's increased willingness to turn to doctors although people are spending more of that time sick, according to the Central Statistics Office (KSH).
The gender gap has decreased in recent years, probably because people are visiting their doctors more frequently with illnesses that previously went untreated. However, this does not mean they are in worse health, the Central Statistics Office Head of Department told Inforádió.
